Hi,

great gallery. But I can't get it running in IE8. Can you take a look at http://bonsoft.easysoftware.cz/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=19&Itemid=205#ad-image-0 ?

IE console doesn't show any error. I tried to delete all parameters, but with no result.

Anybody know why?
Comments: PhilippeOVH, I experienced this same problem with IE8. (I do not have a computer with IE9 and I can't upgrade due to another program needing IE8.) Your fix seemed to work with the slide show, but not reliably when thumbnails are clicked. In some cases the main image appeared at 28px wide. I could not discern a pattern, and once refreshed, they cached at the appropriate size. Can you duplicate this condition and recommend a fix, perhaps in the CSS if not in the js? We unfortunately didn't notice until our site was launched and everything works fine in Chrome and Firefox. As in a comment above, we use responsive code and suspect that may be related. The problem occurs on this and other pages of the Gallery, http://susancsiegel.com/artwork.php?keyword=watercolors#ad-image-0.

I LOVE this plugin. I mean, seriously, LOVE it!!

There seems to be an issue with it though. I've downloaded 1.2.7 and it works, except for one weird thing. When the page loads, the thumbnail for 10.jpg appears in the thumbnail bar the way you'd expect. As the page continues to fully load, the count of the images increases normally until it counts to the 14th image. Here is when it gets weird. When it reaches 14, the count goes back DOWN to 13, and 10.jpg disappears from the thumbnail bar.

The demo on http://coffeescripter.com/code/ad-gallery/#ad-image-0 doesn't do this, but on my website, http://kimberwarden.com/js/ADGallery/example/example.html#ad-image-0, it does. I compared the source code of my site and yours, and they don't match. For instance, 1.2.7 uses jquery 1.7.2, but the version running on your site uses jquery 1.3.2. And the one on your site doesn't have the setTimeout(function() hard coded into example.html.

Is there any way you might have a moment to take a look at it? Thanks so much!

Created Issue: A problem with the thumbnail slider portion of AD Gallery [23]

I have encountered a problem, and what's most frustrating is it has been an intermittent problem for me. I cannot find any particular pattern of behavior that will reliably duplicate the problem. And yet it continues to happen from time to time. I am using v 1.2.7. I have modified parameters only for the size of the images I will be using (774 width, 581 height), and the location of the images, leaving everything else alone.

When this problem occurs, the thumbnail slider malfunctions. When I slide over to the last thumbnail, the slider won't stop sliding. Refreshing the page makes no difference (I left the update_window_hash parameter true, so it puts the current image into the URL). Instead of the last thumbnail stopping up against the right margin, it shows up in the middle of the slider area, as if it was one of the middle thumbnails. What's worse, I can hover over the right arrow, and the thumbnails will keep sliding to the left, until they have gone completely out of view. The motion of the slider won't stop like it is supposed to once the last thumbnail is fully displayed on the right.

I tried following the code in a JS debugger. As best I can follow, when the problem is happening, it seems something is going wrong in the findImages function (starting line 263). The code is ultimately left with a disparity between the thumb_count and the thumbs_loaded vars. I have also seen the index value ( i ) that comes into thumbs.each {... (line 273) skip values. This is when the thumbnail slider does not work correctly. I have not been able to figure out what is causing this.

Anyone else have this happen, or have any ideas?

IE 7, IE 8 and IE 9/Win7: ok.
Opera 12.14/Win7: ok.

Hello Coffeescripter,

I love your image gallery. The best available as far as I'm concerned. I noticed a little problem using it on a 32-bit Windows 7 computer with Chrome version 25. This probably isn't an issue on 64-bit computers but I haven't tested. Anyway, it appears that the animation is choppy when you click on the thumbnails. I think the reason is that the href attribute adds extra work for the javascript engine. When I added this bit of code to the end of the findImages() method, the animation ran smoothly:
link.removeAttr('href')

Browsing an web page containing the AdGallery via IE9 with compatibility OFF and try to press on the left & right buttons of the main image , produces a javascript error

"SCRIPT16386: No such Interface Supported" in a method called "getCompuetdStyle"

changing the JQuery version to be 1.8.3 , 1.9.0 or 1.7.2 doesnt change the error

I'm using box-sizing: border-box; in my CSS and I had an issue with the description not being the same size as the image.

Line 679, I replaced

```
var width = size.width - parseInt(desc.css('padding-left'), 10) - parseInt(desc.css('padding-right'), 10);
```

with

```
var width = size.width;
if (this.settings.boxSizing !== 'border-box') {
width = width - parseInt(desc.css('padding-left'), 10) - parseInt(desc.css('padding-right'), 10);
}
```

and added

```
boxSizing: $('html').css('box-sizing')
```

in your default settings.

Tested in Chrome v25, Firefox v19 and IE9

Feel free to use it, or not ;-)

The phrase "ad-gallery" and various ad- incarnations appear in Ad Blocker black lists causing the gallery images to be blocked for those using an Ad Blocker. A few of my customers ran into this problem and it took me the better part of a day to track it down. My solution was simply to rename the script to coffee-gallery and change all ad / Ad prefixes to coffee / Coffee.

Im using jquery adgallery 1.2.7. Modified the html page adding upto 56 images. The page is not running correctly. The link is http://www.spacems.com/gallery/example/example.htm.

The images appears in background, the thumbnails as well as arrows become inactive, the animation stops working.

Attached the image of the page as wel as the html page

Comments: The container that holds the preloaded images is positioned at (-9000px, -9000px), but the images inside the container could flow far enough to be visible. To fix this, I have taken the existing CSS rule: /* Can't do display none, since Opera won't load the images then */ .ad-preloads { position: absolute; left: -9000px; top: -9000px; } And also set the position on the images: /* Can't do display none, since Opera won't load the images then */ .ad-preloads, .ad-preloads img { position: absolute; left: -9000px; top: -9000px; } As long as the images are smaller than about 8500px in both dimensions, the preloaded images should not appear nor prevent the controls from working.
