Hi,

great gallery. But I can't get it running in IE8. Can you take a look at http://bonsoft.easysoftware.cz/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=19&Itemid=205#ad-image-0 ?

IE console doesn't show any error. I tried to delete all parameters, but with no result.

Anybody know why?
Comments: PhilippeOVH, I experienced this same problem with IE8. (I do not have a computer with IE9 and I can't upgrade due to another program needing IE8.) Your fix seemed to work with the slide show, but not reliably when thumbnails are clicked. In some cases the main image appeared at 28px wide. I could not discern a pattern, and once refreshed, they cached at the appropriate size. Can you duplicate this condition and recommend a fix, perhaps in the CSS if not in the js? We unfortunately didn't notice until our site was launched and everything works fine in Chrome and Firefox. As in a comment above, we use responsive code and suspect that may be related. The problem occurs on this and other pages of the Gallery, http://susancsiegel.com/artwork.php?keyword=watercolors#ad-image-0.

Hello world ! I'm looking for a way to make resizable the whole AD Gallery (thumbs, image, wrapper) in order to fit the browser window size. It would look like a way to make it responsive...
I'm not an expert in JQuery and javascript... It would be great if someone could help me and I'm sure it would be useful for others... Thanks.

I LOVE this plugin. I mean, seriously, LOVE it!!

There seems to be an issue with it though. I've downloaded 1.2.7 and it works, except for one weird thing. When the page loads, the thumbnail for 10.jpg appears in the thumbnail bar the way you'd expect. As the page continues to fully load, the count of the images increases normally until it counts to the 14th image. Here is when it gets weird. When it reaches 14, the count goes back DOWN to 13, and 10.jpg disappears from the thumbnail bar.

The demo on http://coffeescripter.com/code/ad-gallery/#ad-image-0 doesn't do this, but on my website, http://kimberwarden.com/js/ADGallery/example/example.html#ad-image-0, it does. I compared the source code of my site and yours, and they don't match. For instance, 1.2.7 uses jquery 1.7.2, but the version running on your site uses jquery 1.3.2. And the one on your site doesn't have the setTimeout(function() hard coded into example.html.

Is there any way you might have a moment to take a look at it? Thanks so much!

I have just implemented the Ad Gallery code into my page and it works great. The only problem is that the Slide Horizontal transition effect doesn't work? All of the other transition effects work fine except this one? I have set the effect in the jquery.ad-gallery.js file, is there anything else I need to do?

Hi,

first of all thanks for this great plugin! I've been trying out various jQuery based galleries in the last week and this seems to be the best one out there.

I'm trying to achieve the following but don't have a good idea on how to do it:

For certain images (panorama stitched "wide" images) I would like to disable resizing on load to fit into .ad-gallery.width and .ad-gallery.ad-image-wrapper.height but instead have a horizontal scrollbar.

In my current picture gallery I do something like this e.g. for images under http://www.feuster.com/Pictures/Nordspanien_2011/sansebastian/index.html.

Any way how this could be achieved with AD Gallery?

Created Issue: A problem with the thumbnail slider portion of AD Gallery [23]

I have encountered a problem, and what's most frustrating is it has been an intermittent problem for me. I cannot find any particular pattern of behavior that will reliably duplicate the problem. And yet it continues to happen from time to time. I am using v 1.2.7. I have modified parameters only for the size of the images I will be using (774 width, 581 height), and the location of the images, leaving everything else alone.

When this problem occurs, the thumbnail slider malfunctions. When I slide over to the last thumbnail, the slider won't stop sliding. Refreshing the page makes no difference (I left the update_window_hash parameter true, so it puts the current image into the URL). Instead of the last thumbnail stopping up against the right margin, it shows up in the middle of the slider area, as if it was one of the middle thumbnails. What's worse, I can hover over the right arrow, and the thumbnails will keep sliding to the left, until they have gone completely out of view. The motion of the slider won't stop like it is supposed to once the last thumbnail is fully displayed on the right.

I tried following the code in a JS debugger. As best I can follow, when the problem is happening, it seems something is going wrong in the findImages function (starting line 263). The code is ultimately left with a disparity between the thumb_count and the thumbs_loaded vars. I have also seen the index value ( i ) that comes into thumbs.each {... (line 273) skip values. This is when the thumbnail slider does not work correctly. I have not been able to figure out what is causing this.

Anyone else have this happen, or have any ideas?

Thanks, RobGPhotoUK. I was able to get ALT and title working the way I wanted by doing this:

      };

I hadn't tried commenting out the whole block. Thanks for the tip.

I have no idea if you're still looking for an answer on this one, but just in case someone has a similar problem...
You can disable the alt tags showing up as a part of the description and just leave the title tags in place should you want to use them.
Open up the jquery.ad-gallery.js file and find the bit dealing with alt tags:

 var desc = false;
          if(thumb.data('ad-desc')) {
            desc = thumb.data('ad-desc');
          } else if(thumb.attr('alt') && thumb.attr('alt').length) {
            desc = thumb.attr('alt');
          };

Then either comment out or delete everything in this block of code after the first line. Mine looks like this:

 var desc = false;
/*
          if(thumb.data('ad-desc')) {
            desc = thumb.data('ad-desc');
          } else if(thumb.attr('alt') && thumb.attr('alt').length) {
            desc = thumb.attr('alt');
          };
*/

The title tag will remain unaffected and so can still be used as a description for individual images.
Leaving some of the alt descriptions in place while removing others is a little beyond my current coding skills though.

This gallery is absolutely fantastic. Thank you for all the hard work and excellent coding.

I am having a small issue when it comes to loading a new gallery via ajax.

Everything works as expected when a new gallery is returned. The previous gallery gets replaced and life is good.

However, if the slideshow is enabled...
The new gallery does get initialized, but the current gallery does not get removed. The new gallery seems to just overlay on the large images. So the previous and new gallery slideshows are running concurrently. Please note, the thumb nails do get replaced as expected.

Any thoughts on how to destroy/stop the current slideshow and remove it when I load the new gallery?

Same issue in Chrome/Win7.

IE 7, IE 8 and IE 9/Win7: ok.
Opera 12.14/Win7: ok.

I want to apply the fluid behavior for the gallery images, to adapt images to the width of the screen. Is this possible? indeed I want to get working the gallery in mobile environment, so adapt the images according the width of the screen. I have found a previous thread related http://adgallery.codeplex.com/discussions/391254, but seems that there is no progress in this topic, anybody has made some progress on this topic?
